Ohkwari Designs is a proudly Métis Indigenous-owned local business dedicated to celebrating culture, creativity, and community through high-quality handcrafted beadwork, ribbon wear, mossbags, traditional textiles, and unique lifestyle pieces. Based in Calgary and a regular at markets like Kensington’s Hidden Gem and Okotoks Market Square, we focus on creating pieces that are both “heart medicine” and beautiful heirlooms.

Our business is deeply rooted in the spirit of giving back. We founded the Miyotehew Collective (formerly The Caregiving Collective). In this community initiative, 100% of the proceeds from our mossbag sales are reinvested to create and gift traditional mossbags (wâspisons) to Indigenous parents free of charge. In 2025 alone, we gifted 45 mossbags to families reclaiming traditional child-rearing practices.

Join us for the Passport to the Arts Show and Sale on Sunday, September 13th, 2026, from 10am to 4pm. Gate prizes and free admission.
