Jeweliyana Reece
Jeweliyana’s work is inspired by nature and an ever unfolding exploration of the physics of being. This draw has given birth to collections like ‘Tree Lover at Heart Series’ and ‘Sun Seeds’. It’s often flavored with hints of her earlier career as a geological technician featuring fossilized detail and patterns akin to strati-graphic cross sections. Her ‘mad scientist at heart’ personality makes glass fusing the perfect art form to combine her love of vibrant translucent color and texture with the science behind each firing. She started Infused Glass Works in 2010 to dedicate her time fully to the self study and exploration of kiln forming. Her work received the Peoples Choice Award with Parks Canada in 2011 and has been featured in events such as Ottawa’s exclusive Snow Flake Charity Ball and Art Takes Times Square, NY, USA. It’s been published in ‘Best of World Wide Glass’ and Spectrum Glass Company’s national glass publication. She currently creates and teaches from her home studio in Calgary.
